Very Happy

Hi, I am a newbie to this forum.

I am originally from the UK and now living in Auckland, enjoying NZ and exploring it like mad when work allows.

I used to live in Vancouver and would love to socialise with some Canadians living in Auckland.

Anything going on that anyone can tell me about

bye for now

Katie

Hi. I am relocating to Auckland to, from Canada. Me and my husband are coming to study and work, we arrive at the beginning of Feb. Since you have been there first, I was wondering if you might share some useful info. I am currently looking for accommodation in Auckland, and would you know of a useful place to check out.like a site online, or newspaper. I find the rent to be very similar priced to Canada. O, and how do you find the transit system? Hopefully once we get comfortable there we can share more info etc. It would be fun to get to know some fellow travellers. Smile

You can find lots of UK people in New Zealand here:
http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=83

I haven't been able to find any Canadian groups or sites, other than this one. But British Expats site it great and there's people from all over on there.

For real estate sites you can look here:
http://www.allrealestate.co.nz/
There's tabs for buying or renting.

Go to trademe dot com and it will give you the best rental ideas. However, when you have settled on an area grab the local paper to avoid paying the realtor fees.

There is a Canadian Club in Auckland, PM me and I will give you some contact info. If you are already here there is a Canada-US softball game/picnic on April 6 in auckland. See details below

Sunday, April 6
Be there by 11:30 for a 12:00 game
Rosedale Park, Albany – Diamond # 2
The game is on unless it’s absolutely teeming down – in which case, we reschedule for Sunday, April 13.
And after?: We will get together at the Nu Brew after the game -- whether it’s to congratulate ourselves or to commiserate.
