Hello,

My husband and I have been considering moving somewhere warm and sunny for a while now. I am wondering what countries are easiest/hardest to get permanent work visas in? He is a high school teacher and I have a BSc. We have found that New Zealand has a shortage of teachers so that is a possibility, but we would really love to move somewhere closer to Canada, like the warm and sunny Caribbean! Barbados looks difficult to immigrate to unless you are opening up a hotel or restaurant. Does anyone know any other warm countries that have a shortage of teachers, or are generally easy to move to? We are also financially self-sufficient, which should help I hope! Thanks for any input!

Are there many teaching jobs in Bermuda? Enough that locals can't fill them all? My dad moved there when I was a kid for a couple years do work for a bank and I loved it there. From what I remember there were mostly finance jobs though. Also there seemed to be a lot of restrictions put on outsiders, like he wasn't allowed to purchase a car or house.

Lots of openings for teachers here, don't sweat it.
You just need a company to sponsor you & you're gold.
Available jobs range here from finance, acounting, IT, construction, to health.

You're right, ex-pats cannot buy property (you wouldn't really want to as average prices are $1M) . . . as for cars that's both true and false.
A law was recently passed (<2 months ago) that forbid any single or childless couple ex-pats from buying a car (for congestion sake) . . . so if you have kids, have at 'er.
Most people here travel by scooter/moped (called bikes locally).

Let me know if there's anything else,
W.
