Imagine my surprise and dismay to discover that Mariah Carey (supposedly) is Canadian. At least, according to an article on divas in today's Independent, she is.

Personally, I question the veracity of the statement. Your thoughts?

Don't panic, the article was wrong. Smile She's American, was born in New York.

So we only have Celine Dion to contend with.

...and Shania Twain, even though she lives in Switzerland.

Personally, I prefer the smaller groups from Canada...

Lovenbodyparts (Ottawa)
Haywire (East Coast) (no longer together)

I'm sure there are more -- anybody have any additions?

Barenaked ladies?

I'm actually not a fan of any of the above mentioned Smile But there are others I enjoy. Sam Roberts, Tegan & Sara, and all the indie bands sprouting up these days. A lot of good ones from Montreal.
