Any strange laws or customs?

we are heading to brisbane for May 1st and would like to know if there are any laws or customs that a canadian would find odd.

Are there any other things a canadian would find weird? are there any laws there that we should know about or lack of ...

Has anyone used any other company that would be more cost effective?

I appreciate any advise or ...
