If we travel or live abroad, we usually come back to visit right? Here's a the place to meet other "re-pats" and Canadians who have returned.

BEST PLACE TO LIVE NR FRASER VALLEY?

We are planning on spending up to 3 months a year in Canada, to be able to visit my son and family. We live in the UK. He lives in Abbotsford BC. We have visited and love Canada, but don't know the best place to live. We don't like Abbotsford enough to want to live there, but we want to be within travelling distance.
We love the mountains and beautiful scenery, but we would like ...

US Entry as a visitor

I had a criminal record in a fight with my wife in Canada. Ever since the court ordered a probation in 2001 (till today), I never visited the US.

I received my pardon last week.

1. Can I now visit US now? Will the US border people have any record of my past?

2. Can someone guide me if I can go for a TN visa or an H1-B visa? Will I face any problems? ...

Recommendation of shipping & moving companies

Hi, I am currently living in NSW, Australia with my wife and we are thinking about making the move back to ON, Canada.

Being Canadians living once again in Canada, some of you probably have had your possessions shipped from where you once lived back home to Canada. Can anyone recommend a moving & shipping company that is reputable, reliable, and preferably has been used by you? If you can give me an idea of ...

Move to Montreal?

I am currently living in Toronto and am tired of it. I have been here all my life and the last year or so, I've felt like I've outgrown it.

I've been to Montreal several times and love it. I like the vibe there, I like the lifestyle there and I believe it is better suited to me than Toronto is now.

How difficult is it to find a job being non-bilingual? I speak Spanish ...

Best cell phone and broadband deals in Vancouver

Moving back to Vancouver after several years abroad, and need to get a mobile phone and broadband internet.

Any suggestions as to good companies for cell phones and broadband? For broadband, I'd prefer something fast, in which the upload speed isn't capped, and an ISP that doesn't block/slow BitTorrent or other Peer2Peer file exchange.

Just curious - how long do broadband contracts usually last for? They're generally 1 year here in the UK.

Cheers.

Suggestions for private health insurance

Moving back to Canada after several years abroad. Won't qualify for provincial health insurance until after I'm back for 6 months, and am thus supposed to take out private health insurance for that period.

Any suggestions as to companies?

Cheers.

English Canadian going to French Canada: Quebec

We can say that as a British Columbian, to come to French Canada, known as Quebec, can be like going to a Foreign country, as Stephen Harper mentioned that Quebec is a Nation within a Nation.

This issue could be solved if the whole of the nation becomes a Republic. If we are not English Canada and French Canada, but just Canada, the French Canadians will have no more weight to whine and complain. The ...
