Stuttgart bound!

Firstly, realllyyy glad I found this website! I've read amazingly helpful posts, HOWEVER! Its a hard thing to find employment when your german is limited and your only in town for a few months in the summer. Any suggestions, hints, links? Anything will help! Or if anyone is looking for a young, english speaking Canadian university student with experience in the food service industry, child care or just a hard worker (currently working on getting ...

Youth Work visa and schengen

Hey All,
Firstly I am an Australian, but I'm confident that my question will have the same results as for Canadians. My aim is to stay in Germany for 18 months, whilst my German girlfriend finishes her studies. So here are my questions.

1. Can I apply for a youth working visa from Germany whilst on a schengen visa?

2. At the end of my youth working visa could I then immediately start a schengen ...

Canadian in Germany - work visa (graphic design/advertising)

Hey, random people reading this,
Recently I've been lining up a job in Germany with a fairly large international company. Just hoping I can get some advice about getting a work visa for Germany.
I've been doing some research, and I don't think I qualify for a Youth Mobility Visa, as i (luckily) still qualify. However, it specifies that you *must* have a return flight booked, and *must* have an understanding of the German language... ...

Work-permit for engineering/science jobs

I have just finished a bachelor's degree in mech. engineering, and I'd like to try my luck in Germany for 4-5 years. I've found some interesting job-listing that are a good fit for me (note that all are jobs that require good working knowledge of English). I'm going to apply soon, but I'm anxious and would appreciate any information regarding the following:

If I understand correctly, the order of preference is 1) Germans 2) EU ...

Canadian Travelling to Germany

Hello everyone on the internet!

I'm traveling to Germany in March, I hope to find some work, learn the language and see the sights.

My German isn't fluent enough, do some companies hire Canadians that are working on the language but are not quite there yet?

I'd like to think I'm an IT professional with 10 years experience, I can also do security and I know that I really shouldn't say this because I don't ...

Moving to Stuttgart Area

Hello,

My husband and I are debating moving to a town near Stuttgart... perhaps Reutlingen or Tubingen. My husband is German and grew up in Reutlingen and has recently received a job offer there.
I have previously lived in Germany and had a very hard time meeting people and am a little apprehensive about moving back. We now have a 3 year old daughter and I am hoping to find out if there are other ...
