For Canadians traveling or living in Germany

Looking for fellow Canucks in Frankfurt :)

My fiancé recently got a job there and we're waiting for our visas to go through (we're both applying for Youth Mobility - it seemed to be the best option). Although we are not currently living in Frankfurt (yet) I would like to make some contacts in Germany before arriving. Moving to a new country is both thrilling and terrifying (especially when you don't know the native language, haha). I am practicing but I can ...

Help! How to leave husband?

Hi,

I'm a 26 year old canadian living in Berlin. I'm married to a German and currently not working. We've been moving between London, Berlin, Hamburg and Montreal every 6 months for the last two years. All this moving kept me unable to get my documents (visas) in order in time to get a job, not to mention the mandatory german language and orientation class.

Now the problem is; I've made up my mind that ...

Need Advice

Desperately seeking any sustainable Job in Germany or Schweiz-
Can any of you PLEASE try to help me?

Where are most english speakers (who are not super-educated) finding gainful employment in Germany or der Schweiz?

Are there particular Zeitarbeit Vermittlung Firmen (Temp Agencies/Job Recruiters) that are especially active with venig-German-speaking Canadian & US citizens? If so where (& what) are they? Are there better cities that I should be in instead of the Bodensee region? ...

Work permit expires, what then?

Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you know, what happens when the work permit runs out, if we then start a 90 days period again or if one is expected to leave the Schengen area for 180 days, unless a request for a new permit is in process?

My work permit expires in September and I'm trying to plan beforehand what action will have to be taken then, as I wish to go ...

I have got a kitchen, a bath and a balcony. A train-station is 2 minutes away from the flat.

So, if you want to spend a few days in Cologne, join ...

Life in Germany

It´s been awhile since I´ve posted in this forum (over 3 years) and I apologize to anyone who I neglected to write back to in the past. Alot has happened in my life since I´ve been in Germany and thankfully all good things! I have slowly but successfully integrated into german society and even though I will always love Canada, my homesickness is gone. I got married to my soulmate, I found work and had ...

Also wondering if anyone knows of any good shipping companies here in British Columbia.
Thanks all!! ...
