Pet Passports

Does anyone have any recent experience getting pet passports in Mississauga, Ontario? I am taking my cats from Canada to the UK and my local vet does not 'do pet passports', and will only issue a certificate showing all the vaccinations.

I have emailed DEFRA for advice and am still waiting for their reply, however, perhaps someone has recently been through this. Hopefully there is an Official Veterinarian in Mississauga that can provide pet passports. ...

Maclaren Imperial cheese - substitute?

Christmas is coming and I am obsessing about a cheese dip I make with Maclaren's Imperial Cold Pack Cheese...but the shipping is way too high at the specialty import places. Has anyone found a product in the UK that is similar?

They don't carry that sort of thing at Costco UK, do they? I couldn't find a product list online.

Family friendly neighbourhood near Shoreditch High Street

Hi

We are being recruited by the UK Company that's located near Shoreditch High Street. Before we make a decision to accept the job offer, I would like to get advice/info on everything :)

Currently, our net income in Canada is 7-8k/month and the offer is for 81k pound. We live very comfortably with that income of 7-8k and manage to save 1500 to 2k a month ...

To move or not to move (from Canada to UK)?

My husband and I are both Canadian citizens, but not born in Canada. We emigrated to Canada a couple of years ago. We started as graduate students. Now my husband graduated and got a job offer in a UK city (not London). I also had a Canadian degree a couple of years ago, but currently I am not working.

I'm a bit reluctant to make such a life-changing move, since we seem to have just ...

Why is Tim Hortons so special?

I just can't enjoy coffee from any places other than Tim Hortons... I can imagine that if I go to the UK, I will miss the double-double so much. Why is Tim Hortons so special? Would it be possible to homemade coffee that taste the same with Tim Hortons products purchased online?

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to say Hey and let everyone know that the Ancestry Visa for my Wife and I was APPROVED TODAY! WOHOO. I cannot wait to arrive and meet everyone who is currently living in the UK. We are looking at London as our main option as I currently work in the Insurance Industry as an accountant so it's likely easier for me to find work in London than other areas in the ...

Hi guys.

If you can, or can't tell, I just joined this site after it kept popping up in my constant google searches about moving abroad to england.

I finally caved in after a year of trying to plan this entire thing by myself and decided to look for some programs to help canadians move abroad.
the only (helpful) ones i found were swap.ca, and the global work & travel co.
So my first question ...

Moving on from London

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I moved from Vancouver, BC, to London three weeks ago with Youth Mobility Visas. We did a fair amount of research before making the move and were aware of the economic reality/recession here in the UK. So I can't say we've been shocked to not have found employment yet.

We've both had an interview each, within our respective sectors and although I didn't end up being the successful candidate, he ...
