Long shot here but has anyone dealt with VIF? It places teachers in the U.S.
Seems to be mostly in North Carolina.
I'm considering teaching in the U.S. (or in the UK, I could get right of abode, I can't decide).
Anyone living in NC? What's it like?

I'm a CDN in the process of looking for US visa sponsored work ops, but in the meantime had a question about merely performing contract work for a US company on site. I've been self-employed for years and have certainly had US companies as clients. Is it possible to stay in the US for a limited period of time as a business visitor/Canadian citizen and work onsite for a US client?

My husband just got his TN visa. He can apply for Social Security Number right?

If yes how long does it take to get the number and can you start working as soon as you apply or do you have to wait until you receive the number?
