Obtaining Canadian passports for older children

Hi. I'm a Canadian who has been living in the UK for 15 years and married to a UK national and should have sorted this out by now but I have two boys age 9 and 11 who do not yet have Canadian passports. Every time I look into it I get very bogged down--as one boy was born in UK and the other in Australia. Does anyone know the best steps to take? I ...

Eh?

Hello everyone...

I receive news emails from the UKBA, and in one of their latest ones was a headline about having to prepay the postage online when you make a visa application. Anyway, I'm curious, and ...

Hi,

I am planning on traveling to the U.S. to do research for a book I am going to write. How long can I stay for at a time? Is it six months? And then I have to return to Canada for six months before I go back down again? I plan on renting a condo there and paying cash. I will keep all my Canadian bank accounts and Canadian house.

No ten-year passports until 2013

http://www.ppt.gc.ca/articles/20111110.aspx?lang=eng

Wow, shocker.

So originally they were supposed to be out Q4 2011, then it was "sometime in 2012", now it's Q1 2013.

My submission to them during the consultation was that there should only be ten-year passports, the only reason I can see to keep issuing five-year passports is to keep the union happy. Like it says, it will cost less per year to get a ten-year passport.
