Marrying an American...

Hi guys&galls,

I plan to marry a sweet American girl next year. We plan to live here in Canada, at least for a few years. We will fill the papers over there (I'm such a gentleman :) )

Can anyone offer me any valuable advice in terms of legal steps and especially timing which I must consider? Does she have to get any special type of visa? ...

Can I drive my car with belongings while waiting for L1B.

Help me ASAP!
I was going to drive to US and to fill up to the roof my car with my stuff, leave it in US. (I've sold furniture and don't have that much to ship it), and fly back to Toronto to take my family, and I was sure I'll have visa (L1B)in my hands. But 2 days ago I was told that they requested additional docs and obviously its a delay.
If I'll ...

=filmmaker and marketer going to LA?

Hi,

I can get letter of employment from studio in LA but I don't have "extraordinary talents" as per NAFTA agreement (no Oscars or Emmy's)

I'll be directing a movie
plus doing live seminars teaching people how to make movies
plus doing live seminars for small business and film people about marketing and speaking in public.

1. Should all of this be included on one letter - all activities

2. With the letter should I ...

US to Canada?

What are my options for permanently moving to Canada? There would be 3 moving. I'm 17, my father is 37 and my step-mom is 22?

What would be the best way?

:( Waiting lists are since the waiting lists are so long. :(

Anything is accepted. Thanks.

Moving/shipping advice from Toronto to Melbourne/Australia

Can anyone provide advice on shipping possessions from Toronto to Melbourne when they make the big move down to Australia? I'm moving on my own, currently have a 1 bedroom (700 square foot condo) in Toronto and am not sure if it's really worth moving a lot of stuff. The only really valuable furniture item that I have is a 2 piece leather sofa set (3 person condo-sized sofa plus a lounge chair). Potential only ...

Work Visa, K-1, K-3? What's the better option?

So I've been living in New York as an au pair for the last 2 years and now I'm getting ready to head back to Canada since my time here is just about over.
I now have a boyfriend here in NY and am trying to figure out the best way to return to the US in about a year's time.
We're in a committed relationship with plans to marry someday, but are not formally ...

Grandmother had UK passport, but was not born in the UK

I'm just starting to research the various visas that I could apply for and I discovered that I have a rather unique situation that I don't think will work for the ancestry visa.

My father's mother was born in Cuba to British parents. She received her UK passport and used it for about 20 years until she was given a Canadian passport, which she then used. letting the UK one fall by the wayside.

She ...

Radio Free Europe?

Hey everyone,

I am 22 years old and work as a radio announcer here in Canada. I am planning to make the move to Europe in the coming months and am wondering if anyone has come across some cool English radio stations in Europe. I found a website that tries to list them all, but I don't think it is totally comprehensive. It'd be great to know if any of you have found a cool ...

My Canadian Fiancee cannot cross the border.

Hello to all!
After much searching I came across this site and hope I can find the answers I'm looking for.
I have known my Fiancee for about 5 years now. She is Canadian born and has lived in the same home in Toronto all her life. She has visited me in the U.S. about 6 or 7 times during 2006-2007. Suddenly in March of '07 she was denied access at the border, taken aside, ...
