Hi, I was wondering if any of our forum members had utilized this service rather than returning to their POE of choice, any feedback? I am considering using it over a trip north.

Working in Canada while living in the US

I am in the US on an H1 and we are in the process of filing for permanent residency and a VISA. This could take another year. My husband would like to return to work and could do so for a Canadian company in the area of remote or even telphone sales. We live in California but also have a place in Canada. We travel back and forth on a frequent basis. My questions: 1. ...

Special Rules for Permanent Residency for Mission Work?

Good evening,

About 3 years ago I moved with my wife and kids to Mexico to do mission work. At that time, I sent a note to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency saying that we were leaving the country, and that I would be cancelling my permanent residency. At the time, I judged that to be best, but am now having second thoughts.

I have been told by a few folks that Canada has special ...

OHIP, NHS, and visas oh my!

Hi guys! I have a question. In a few days I will be moving to London from Toronto on a Post Study Work visa. So what do I do about health insurance? Do I qualify for NHS through my Post Study Work visa? Or do I bring OHIP over with me?

Thanks!

Stephanie

TN holder marrying an American

Hi all.

My boyfriend and I plan to marry in January 2009. We currently live in two different states, and my question is, after we file for the AOS and EAD, will I be able to quit my current job, move to his city, and look for a new job there while waiting for the EAD? I figured that after we file for the AOS I will no longer be bound to my current TN ...

Advice. Pre-construction condo and residential-tie

Hi,

About a year ago I signed the purchase agreement of a pre-construction condo which won't be finished until 2011. However I'm now considering moving down south for a new job. Does anyone know if this condo would be considered by CRA my residential tie to Canada? Are there any ways to transfer this purchase agreement to a different person (e.g. a relative)? Have anyone been in this situation before?

Thanks. I'm glad I found ...

H1B to TN

Hello,

My H1B visa needs to be extended soon. I would like to use TN instead of extending it. Is there any issue for converting H1B to TN? Do I need a lawyer? In case TN is denied, can I still use H1B (a few weeks left) to enter USA?

Thanks,

My TN was lifted!

Yikes, I'm in a tight spot! I've been working in the US under a TN for nearly 2 years now. After a short trip to Canada, as I was re-entering the US the Immigration officer pulled me in. My passport scans up as a "denial" since I had been denied my initial TN renewal, but ended up being granted the status.

In March my boyfriend and I were married and were planning on doing an ...
