Fair market value for deemed disposition of property

Hi, I've recently moved to the US but still own a home in Toronto. Would it be on the entire amount of capital gains since I purchased the home? How does the principal residence exemption factor into calculating the capital gains ...

UK citizen entering the UK with a Canadian passport - work?

I've been searching the entire internet for the answer to this question, and I think I've gleaned the answer from a few sources. Instead of hording this information forever, I thought I'd post it here so people can discuss it (if needed) and so the search trolls can pick it up for future travelers.

Hi, I'm a Canadian traveler in Europe researching information on applying for a working holiday visa. What makes my case different is that I'm already in Europe. Or do we just need something called permanent residency? If that’s all we need, what else must we have… a work ...

Facing an uncertain future

Wow. I don't know where to start this, so I'm sorry for the scatter-brain approach. Moved down to NC on a L1A visa with a bank, and was just let go yesterday. I'm certain that my Visa no longer applies, and we'll need to move back to Canada.

Now. we own our home down here, but given the uncertain real estate market I'm not sure we can sell it or recover what is owed on ...
