TN Questions

I am moving from Sudbury Ontario to Nevada (Around Reno) in the next couple of weeks. I will be working under TN Status, as a scientific technician. I have reviewed the checklist and am confident I qualify, but I have a few questions.

First is what should I use for proof of experience, (I need to show my diploma and have 3 years experience, both of which I have). Right now I have two letters, ...

Canadian organisations in the Pays de la Loire

Hi. I joined this discussion group to see if anyone has heard of any Canadian expat groups in Nantes or Angers. I've been living in France for 5 years now and I'm more than a little homesick!
Thank you kindly

Is there a Danish equivalent of RRSPs?

Hi all,

I was wondering if a Danish equivalent of RRSPs exists, i.e. a fiscal incentive for saving for retirement, based on pre-tax earnings.

Thanks for your kind consideration.

Michel

Double Taxation?

My wife and I will be moving back to Canada in June after spending four years in China. We are so looking forward to returning. Canadian summers, winters etc, you just can't beat it!
Our employer has paid tax on our income while we have lived overseas. Will we have have to pay tax on our income in Canada as well for the past four years?

Bank Statements Question....

Hi Guys,

Another question.I am going to the UK to live with my boyfriend under the UK Ancestry Visa - because I'm moving, and he doesn't have to, he is paying a portion of the costs for me to relocate. As a result, my bank statements show a transfer of money into my account. I am guessing this will be a flag for them, and am not sure what to put as an explanation. Any ...

Triple country jeopardy

I have a unique (at least I think) situation. I am hoping someone can answer my questions.

I am a Canadian citizen in the US on a TN. In the US, I have been filing 1040. In Canada, taxes are deducted at source on any income from investments and I receive NR4 forms to use for filing US taxes.

I have made plans to go to India for an extended period (many months) to spend ...

Healthcare system in Australia

Can someone describe the medical health care system in Australia and compare it to the Canadian one please?

Is it hard to get a family doctor? Do you have to wait for appointments very long? What does that system cover and what does it not cover?

My husband(chemical engineer in water treatment industry) and myself(real estate agent) are thinking of moving to Australia but we first want to inform ourselves about life in Australia.

Thanks

TN Visa for a consultant?

I am a Chemical Technologist (Scientific Technologist under NAFTA for TN requirements). I'm being offered a job by a Canadian company to work in the U.S.
They are set up as a corporation in the U.S., but haven't yet done any business down there. They would also prefer that I work as a consultant, but are flexible.
Their immigration lawyer said I should qualify for a TN visa. But I didn't think you could get ...
