Working Holiday visa - expiring passport and other Qs

I've been a member of the forum for awhile but have only recently decided to take the plunge and go over to live and work in the UK. I was hoping I could get some questions answered here, since this forum seems to be a fount of information :). I apologise if these questions have been asked before - I couldn't seem to find the answers.

First ...

No confirmation email and can't book biometrics appt - HELP!

I've just completed my ancestry visa application, paid for it and printed it, but for some reason when I tried to book my biometrics appointment, it wouldn't work! Then I checked my email and I have not received the confirmation message. After the trouble I've been through to get this far (and I've been through quite a bit!) this has me extremely frustrated! Any reassuring words of advice from anyone who's had similar problems would ...

My fiance's mother was born in the U.K., so does this make him able to get a citizenship and passport? he would like to have a dual citizenship, but all the sites are way too confusing. I don't want to go ...

I am a Canadian moving to London for post graduate school. I will be applying for a Student Visa. Is my girlfriend (common-law) able to come with me as an unmarried partner and obtain her own visa and also be able to work? Evidence of Work for Settlement Visa?

Hello all, it's me again, with my ever-present line of questions that could simply be answered if anyone at the High Commission ever picked up the phone. I've started my visa process for the settlement visa - the details of why I want this are in a different thread - but am wondering about my chances due to the 'evidence of spouse's work/salary' requirement. At the current time, and potentially until we arrive in the ...

Doesn't seem to have come up on these forums yet, so I thought I'd put it out there :).

>.> Do I have all my paperwork? HELP ASAP

I know this is -positively ridiculous- to ask because there are so many posts on it, but at the moment, I'm stressing like crazy because I was just informed I have to move a month earlier than I had originally planned--taking away this next month of taking my time to have my application put together--and now have to apply for my visa TONIGHT or tomorrow night. So I really just don't want to screw up. ...

Canadians can avoid the foreign residency requirement by changing their H-1 visas to either TN-1, or E-2/E-1 Treaty Investor/trader visas.

With "Premium Processing", such changes can be accomplished within the United States in only 2 ...
