New to the board (first post), and I've got a couple of questions. But before I get to that, a little of background info. so you can better understand where I'm coming from.
My wife was born (and raised) in Pakistan. She immigrated here years ago. Myself & our two boys were born & raised in Ontario.
Wifey has a brother who lives in the States so she travels maybe once or twice a year to the States. It's significantly cheaper for her to fly by using the Buffalo airport, so I end up crossing the border to play chauffeur.
I have a Muslim name, but don't consider myself Muslim. In fact I converted to Christianity like 10+ years ago. At the time, I changed my name to something completely different to distance myself from the religion because I never believed in Islam.
Long story short : This caused one heck of a poop-storm within my family (dishonouring my family, bla bla bla) so I ended up changing my name back.
I do not have a criminal record, nor am I interested in staying there as many people do (we own our house in Ontario). I'm a happy Canuck and just want to get this card so dropping her off & picking her up for her trips would be easier on us all whenever we have to cross.
All of my information is verifable, but with profiling & racism, I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about applying. The last thing I want to do is apply for this Nexus card and then end up not being able to enter the States. Does anybody know what the actual grounds for denial are?
