Norrköping

Are there any Canadians in Norrköping? There must be someone here because in July 2010 someone painted a Canadian flag on a rock cliff beside road 209 to Arkösund near the Kungsängs flygplats! What a wonderful feeling it was to see that graffiti! :D

Hej! Laughed when I saw your post because I just moved to the Norrköping area and thought the same thing when I saw the graffiti for the first time! So yeah, I'm here but I didn't paint the flag on the rock. It'd be fun to find the person/people who did though...Are you still in Norrköping, or where you just here for a visit?

Yes, I am still here in Norrköping and have been here the last 6 yrs.

What brought you to Norrkköping?

Where are you from?

We should meet for a Swedish fika someday.

It would indeed be fun to find out who painted that Canadian flag on the rock! I am still very suspicious.

It would be nice if Migrationsverket could let us know how many Canadians are actually in Östergötland. They probably would not do so since it is confidential info. Oh, well. Guess we'll keep on dreamin' about the person or persons who did the graffiti!

Hej! Just realized that these posts don't get forwarded to my email...sorry for the late reply!

Moved here from Växjö at the end of August (my partner got a new job...makes more money than me...therefore, move). Moved to Växjö from Ottawa Oct 2008 (due to 'the partner').

Are you also here as part of a pair or did you come all the way over here on your own accord? Have you lived in Norrköping all 6 years?

I'll be sure to check my profile more often...
Thanks for writing!

Cheers,
Bonde

Hej Bonde!

I am originally from NS. My mother was actually born in Smith Falls and then moved to Ottawa where she spent most of her life.

I have been here in Norrköping all of my 6 yrs.

I met my boyfriend at UNB Fredericton in 1999 while he was on a university exchange program. He went back to UNB again in 2000 but by then I was finished with both my BPE and BEd. So, out west he came to visit while I was teaching in Red Deer, AB and again in Dec 2003 -Jan 2004 while I was teaching in Burgeo, NL. In Jan 2004 before my boyfriend went back to Sweden he popped the question, "Will you...come to Sweden and live with me for a year?" A year turned into almost 6.5 yrs now. I came to Sweden July 2004. Aug 2007 we got married here in Sweden.

At the moment it is my husband who has the job and makes more money than me.

Are you enjoying the snow we recently got? We live out in the middle of a field so the snow drifts have been pretty nasty! But the sliding with the child is good!

I am taking a couple courses in samhällskunskap at KomVux so have been quite focused on getting the distant course done in time. Today, I had an exam on the Swedish economy. Now, I have to cram on the European Union as I have to do a seminar with my classmates before Christmas.

Are you and your partner going to Ottawa for Christmas?

I applied for my Swedish citizenship in July and still have not received anything back including my Canadian passport. We won't be going anywhere till I get that back.

By the way at the bottom of your post you can select from the options below notify me when a reply is posted.

Take care!

Hej Bonde!

Have you heard or seen any other Canadians kicking around?

We Canadians are a rare species over here!
