Obtaining British Passport

Postby dfish » Fri Feb 27, 2009 7:56 pm

How do I go about obtaining a british passport? I was born in Britan, to British parents, who immigrated to Canada when I was 2 years old. I became a Canadian Citizen at the age of 7 years old in 1972 (I believe - I have to look at the paperwork).

I have never applied for a British Passport, but would like to apply for one as it opens doors to living in Europe. Thanks. :p

you have to apply for your British passport (it looks like you are already British so you don't need to apply for any visa).

See the information here :http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-living-overseas/passports

THanks for the info. I am trying to figure out how much the passport costs. Is it $185 USD + an hourly rate to prepare? I can't figure out what they mean about the max $1349 f for a 24 hour period.

BTW I currently reside in the US.

it should be a fixed fee as it is in the UK. Not sure if the $1349 max fee is for the emergencies only...maybe you should send them an email or phone to make sure.
