Obtaining my SSN

Hi,

I just obtained my TN Visa Yesterday at the detroit border. I am now required to to obtain my SSN number. My questions are, Should i go to a SSN office and apply right away? Should I wait for my name to appear in the system? I am close to the niagara falls region is there any ssa office there? if so can someone give me the address?

You should wait 10 days. in that time you can surely look up the address on the ssa.gov website.

Note that the employer doesn't have to wait until you get SSN for you to work. Your TN is your work authorization.
