I moved to the US on an L1B intracompany transfer six months ago but a change in management has made the role highly challenging and stressful. I don't want to move back to Canada - can I apply for a different visa (H1?) or is the next step an immigration lawyer?
Thank you for your reply, sounds like I need to spruce up my resume.
Additional advice I've been given by some CDNs who have lived/worked in the US is to find a good immigration lawyer and start the GC process. Yet this is an expensive option and is it possible to do starting from an L1 B intercompany transfer visa? I am also looking on the USCIS website.
If a lawyer is the way to go, does anyone know a good immigration lawyer in NorCal?
You can have your L1 employer sponsor you, however that will generally mean staying with them for several years, as the GC sponsorship applies to a job AFTER you get GC, not previous time.
