On spouse's H1 visa. How do I work too (as author/entrep)?

I am a US Resident, Canadian Citizen on my spouse's H1 visa. I am an author, who would like to sell my book to a publishing company, but am not currently eligible to work/earn income.

What can I do to get paid, besides move out of the country?

You can get your own H1 or -- if Cdn -- a TN.


H4 status is pretty crappy.
