On TN now, but H1B kicks in while on vacation...

Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen on TN status (valid till 2012). I also have an H1B that kicks in October 1. I plan on being on vacation between September and October. Any problems with this picture?

I asked my immigration manager and she said: since you are a Canadian citizen and have had a work permit in the past (TN), you would NOT need to go to a US Consulate (for H1B stamps) and that you should be able to re-enter US with just your H1B Approval Notice.

Should I be concerned? Has anyone else in this forum gone through something similar?

Thanks,

sarzan

Yeah, she's right, you just need the approved I-797 and your passport/NEXUS card.

Thanks Steve.

I checked with the immigration lawyer and you are right.
