I am relatively sure Mari-mac is correct. if you enter on a canadian passport you unfortunately will be considered as a visitor. If you want to work and stay in the uk the cheapest and best option for you would be to apply for the british passport, it's really the simplist way all round.

My Canadian girlfriend had a two year WHV for UK and it expired last year. She has just returned and has been given a 6 month tourist visa no problem. But she was refused another WHV as you are only ever allowed one per country. But you can travel on tourists visas unlimitedly.

Hope this helps.

Hey Mari=mac,

I was just wondering about your friend who just got a vistors visa after her WHM. I have a bit of a situation right now, I am on a WHM which expires May 1, I am also pregnant and due the end of march. Although there are no stipulations on how old a baby has to be to fly, I don't really want to go home right away (although I do plan to within a few months of the birth). The thought had occured to me to jump over the channel than return on a vistors visa, for the extra few months (giving my husband a few extra months of working over here, as there is lots of money to make in June and July in his industry). Anyways, I was wondering how long was your friend out of england before she returned? did she go back to canada, or was she traveling elsewhere?
Anybody else who might have any advice it would be greatly appreciated, I know I could apply for a married Partner visa, but we plan to live in Canada, and so have his immigration to proccess (he's british) not to mention the expense of a new baby!

Cheers
