My company has offered me a transfer to Dubai (step one, finding work, done). Yes, a transfer into Dubai when everyone is moving out. I am married with a house but no kids.

So.

HELP!!!!! WHAT THE HECK HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO!!!! AGGHHH!!! STUPID ME!!!!! THIS IS CRAZY!!!!

ok, with that out of the way, need some practical advice.

1. Getting non-residency status. Likely need to rent the house out as it has depreciated and we don't want to take the loss. How to do this? Do I really need to close my bank accounts and credit cards?

2. Wife. She will need work (healthcare IT field). She has a job now in Toronto. Her work suggested she could go on one year leave to try it out - but this may cause our non-residency application to be denied. What do you think?

3. Practical stuff - I have a TV, receiver, PS3, computers. Does this stuff work?

Thanks a million!
