Hello, I am considering maybe moving to France, but before i start to research i need to decide what city i would like to move to . Can anyone tell me what's a good city besides Paris for a 21 year old woman with an education in Interior Design, who's not much of a partier? I love the look of the small French towns, but i don't think they would offer much in the way of jobs. Any advice would be helpful. thanx!

I've got no idea about job markets or anything in France, but I've been to Nice, Marseille, Bordeaux, and a few other cities. I've heard Orleans is a nice city.

They all were a lot of fun. How's your French by the way?

Not sure. Haven't used it in years. I can read a little bit of french, and i remember all the little school phrases (pui j'allez a la toilet sil vous plait? Smile), but i'm pretty sure that's it. Would you have any idea of the prices of apartments in the cities you mentioned?

Pure speculation, but I'd guess for something half decent you're looking at at least 500 Euro monthly. You might find some cheapy rooms that people rent out. They may cost a little less (sometimes more) but usually come furnished.

And you might wanna brush up on your french Smile

Thanx again for all the info! You've been very helpful. You'll probably hear from me again at some point!

highly recommend the loire valley. any of the larger towns like blois and tours are amazing. they have everything you want in a french town. have been living here for five months and couldn't be happier anywhere else in france.

You might like Avignon or Carcassonne. I thought they were great all around.
