Passport expiry date Uk Ancestry Visa

I am applying for my UK Ancestry Visa however my current passport expires in two years. Should I get a new passport before applying, or wait until closer to the expiry date. Will I have to reapply or update my visa if I wait to renew my passport two years into my UK Ancestry Visa since it will be for five years?

You don't have to get a new passport before applying. When your current passport expires in 2 years, you will be able to get a new one in London. When travelling afterwards, you'll have the choice between carrying your old and your new passport or transfer your visa in your new passport.

I have the same situation. My Passport expires at the end of 2013 but I was just issued a UK Visa that is valid for 5 years. I understand from your reply I am able to travel using my old passport with the visa along he new passport. You also mentioned transferring the visa...

My question is: How would I go about transferring the UK visa to my new passport? Is it a complicated process?

I am also in the same situation. My passport expires in January 2013 and I am applying for a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa. Are you sure they would not reject me for having a passport that expires too soon, or limit my visa to only the time my passport is valid for?

My second issue, to make matters more complicated is that I just got rejected on my first application. My refusal notice states that my documents did not demonstrate that I held 1600 GBP on the date of my application. I submitted a letter from my bank with EVERYTHING listed in the requirements, including stamp, date stamped, original, etc. But the date was exactly 7 days before my payment.

I thought your letter just had to be within one month, not the exact DAY of your application.

Can you help me? The wording of the refusal is too ambiguous for my liking and I do not want to be rejected again.
