Passports

How long does it take to renew ones passport as I have never needed to before. I heard it can be as little as a few weeks...somehow I doubt it. Are there any ways to speed up the process?

[quote="cdt9c1"]Speaking of passports - does anyone know the procedure for what to do with your working holiday visa when you have to renew your passport in the middle of it?

The official answer from IND (the "home office") is that you can either pay to have the visa transferred to your new passport, 160 or 500 gbp please, or just travel with both.

In the UK if you turn up to a passport office you can queue and just get one there and then. Maybe you could do that?
