Hi all,

Just a couple of questions about the Peace Bridge POE.

1) how do you pronounce officer Tirrano's name? "Ter-Ann-Oh"?
2) I am applying on the 13th, how soon should I call ahead to make sure he's working that day? would the 11th be a safe bet?

Lastly, can anyone give me a general idea how the process goes when you drive to the POE to apply? what sort of questions he'll ask, etc?

Thanks!

TFO is Tirrano. He's fast and just straightforward.
Asked what's your purpose, what's your qualification, asked for diploma and employment letter.

You can only go Mondays to Friday. 8 am to 4 pm.
They don't take appointments.

If you go during those hours on a business day you don't even have to mention his name. When you drive up to the border crossing just say that you need to apply for a TN. They'll take your passport and tell you to drive over to a parking area and go into door number 1 or 3. I forget which one. You'll sit in a little room and get called in. From what I understand Mr. Tiranno is the only one working TN during those hours. He's a very fair and straightforward individual. I just went last month. It was my second time with him and the interview process was less than a minute. Mainly because it was for the exact same job. I highly recommend him, doesn't intimidate at all. Good luck!

That makes me feel 100x better Smile I have a tricky application because it's a scientific technologist visa, but the package was prepared by an excellent lawyer so I feel good about it.

Thank you very much!

Any other stories about the peace bridge are welcome, I am sure any info would be beneficial Smile

Do you know how far in advance he'll give you the TN before you start working? I would like to get mine at least 2 weeks ahead (and more if possible). The start date in my letter is just going to say "before October 1".

I'm debating between this POE and Port Huron.

Mitchell,
What will make you feel even better is I'm down under "Scientific Technician". Although I have a BSc. degree so I think that helped a lot. I didn't even use a lawyer, if you have all the paperwork it's not necessary in my opinion.
I'm not 100% sure how early he'll give it. I went a week in advance for both TN's and he just used the date I went on the visa. Which means each year it expires a week early.
I'm pretty sure you have to have an exact start date. Have your letter state that your start date is October 1st. It'll take at least a week for you to be in the system to get your SSN.
