People to travel with

Post Sun Jul 03, 2005 4:18 am

Hi all!
I've been living in London just over a month and I'm ready to branch out a bit---either see more of England or more of Europe. Problem--no one to do it with. Most of the people I've met aren't in my position, that is, they can't just pick up and go somewhere for a weekend or longer. I'm not a huge fan of travelling alone, although I'd do it if it came down to it. People I talk to seem to think it's really easy to meet people to travel with, but since I'm not staying in hostels or anything, I can't think of how. Any suggestions? I'm a girl in my early 20s so the idea of just approaching people, or looking into things online, makes me a little apprehensive.

Looking forward to any advice.

Hey there,

I travelled solo around Europe and had no trouble meeting people. There were few times I was actually 'alone'.

That being said, I did meet many others on the trains and hostels. You mentioned you weren't staying in hostels so it may be more difficult dependong on how outgoing of a person you are. You could just walk up to other people around your age and ask where they're from, etc. You never know!

Where are you planning to travel exactly? And where are you staying?
