Personalities of European Countries?

Post Sun Dec 05, 2010 6:42 pm

I'm hoping someone on this website has a decent knowledge of the many personalities of Europe. I adapt easily to environments but have a harder time with people, I suppose. I am looking to find a country that would suit my personality the most. For example, my friends in Spain seem to be extremely social people, my Lithuanian friend and Polish friend both seem to be slightly cold-hearted but extremely hard working... This is the kind of information I am looking for. Of course I know everyone is different, but I do believe that culture and environment impacts people!

I'm a 21-year-old Canadian female who is looking to move to Europe on a youth or travel/work visa. I have considered that the UK would probably be the safest bet, considering that I am fluent in English. I also have a "basic" knowledge of Russian, German, Polish and Spanish and "intermediate" knowledge of French. I am planning to move around April 1st and realize I may need to take some intensive language courses before then.

I am artistic, passionate, morally sound, sometimes introverted and other times extroverted, queer, open/accepting, spontaneous. From my travels around North America (I have been fairly transient in the past) I have learned that I definitely value cities which I can walk around and don't need to rely on public transportation. I would prefer a city which is cheaper rather than expensive for things like rent, food, etc.

Any suggestions? Or descriptions of the people you've met along the way?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jes
