phoning home?

Post Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:32 pm

Hey,
I'm about to embark on a 6m tour of Oz (well, working in Darwin for 3m and then traveling for 3m)(look me up if you're near the top end!) and I'm wondering what calling cards are best for getting in touch with Canada? I know most people use skype, but my internet situation might not be stellar.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Alisha

I used http://www.ozprepaidcards.com.au/default.asp to find cards and I think I used the Daybreak card. Now I just use skype on my mobile or laptop, it only costs $0.03/minute.

I'm in sydney and call home frequently. Go to your nearest Australian Post and ask for a international calling card for canada they have some great rates. I get a $20,00 card to call back home to ontario and it gives me well over 400 min all you have to do is dial your number enter your pin code and the calling code for ontario is 0011 the 1(area-code) ..... if they say use the hash key.. it means pound # lol good luck :)
