Hello,
Now that I have secured employment in the U.S, my fiance is looking for teaching opportunities in L.A.
She has her Master's degree and should have no problem finding a position. Question. What visa would she be filing for? H1B?
Does this require having her application in by April 1, 2008 or are teachers exempt from this?
I heard a rumour that teachers can apply for an H1 anytime of year and be able to obtain it quickly.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
vince

If its college level, a TN, if not, an H-1b. If the employer is cap-exempt (most are not) then she can file at any time for the H.

It means the petition can't be counted against the H cap count. H cap-subject petitions must be filed on or after April 1 and cannot have a start date earlier than October 1.
