Points Visa vs. Employer sponsored skilled visa

Post Fri Nov 04, 2011 9:34 pm

Hello, I'm VERY anxious to leave Canada (the snow is here!). I am a Radiographer and I've been approved by the Governing body (AIR-Australian Institute of Radiography) to be able to work in Australia. I also have learned that my career in Radiography is on the Government Skilled Occupation List. However, I'm finding from my own job searches and contacting recruiting agencies etc. there truly isn't an overabundance of work available out there. Would it be easier/faster to do a points Visa (I am quite positive I'd pass). I also have a slight hesitation of signing an employer contract just in case the job or location isn't the best fit but I'm also very anxious to get going. Please help

Skilled visas take a LONG time to get processed. You could be waiting 2 or 3 years. Employer sponsored visas are FAST, like a few months.
