police clearance certificate for F4 visa applicant

Post Tue Aug 25, 2009 9:37 am

Hi forum users,
I am new to this forum.I need your help to solve my confusion. I am a Canadian citizen but Indian nationality. I landed in Canada 8 years ago. My sister in USA applied for F4(brother and sister) visa on my behalf about 12 years ago, that is, before my marriage while I was in India. Processing is going on and I paid processing fee and other documents for my family. Next, I need to obtain police clearance certificate. Please help me regarding this concern. My doubt is: Should I obtain PCC from both India and Canada or just from Canada? If I need PCC from India,do I need to obtain this from Indian consulate in Toronto or from the police department in my nationality? Before I immigrated to Canada, I got Police clearance from the police department in my locality in India and I have never been to India after having landed here. Now, if i need to get this from India, I have no one to help me in India. Also it is very difficult for me to go to india to get the PCC especially during the recession. I read the website of us immigration, but I couldn't make out Which category I come under. Please help me solve this problem. Please reply.
