Possible job offer for me - my spouse wants to work too.

I may be receiving a job offer for a tenure-track admin/research position at a US university starting Spring 2008. As far as I can tell, I qualify for a TN visa, and (probably) a EB-2 employer-sponsor...

Donot fall into the trap of applying for GC through TN visa without changing to a dual intent visa like H or L visa.

Your chances of visa are likely to be endangered if you apply for GC while on TN status since GC application contradicts non-immigrant intent.

There are some immigration consultant who encourage that TN to GC is not a problem. Go ahead if you wish.

After all it is your visa and your job and life.

You speak from personal experiences?

I have yet to hear from a Canadian who was unsuccessful in applying for GC, whether they started it from TN or H1. Agreed that I don't know many of them, but it is still 3 from TN-GC and 2 TN-H1B-GC

Applying for H1B is a pain and Canadians don't need to apply for longer term when they can get a TN so easily.

However, if your TDs can't do anything except breathing the so more marvelous and refreshing air of the US and bathe in it's so better freedom, then I understand why someone would like to fill for GC. I am.
