Hi all,

I have a bachelor's degree in geography from a Canadian university and a master's degree in urban planning from a US university. I'm currently working as an urban planner for a consulting firm in NYC on a TN, but have been offered a part-time freelance job as a graphic designer and would like to get a second TN for this new job. I took one continuing education course in graphic design. Would I be rejected for a graphic designer TN since my bachelor's degree is not in graphic design?

If you have only one course in graphic design and 0 experience, I highly doubt you'll get it. If you had, say, 5 years' experience, then maybe, but even then it's doubtful with just 1 course.

I think it is alll about the transcripts and their content as well as doing graphic design on what type of subject. getting a TN is all a question of interfacing your credentials in the US with the job functions.I can see the relation to a certain extent between urban planning and graphic design(drawings) this will then permit to determine the appropriate TN classification.Again your course curriculum will be important to determine your qualification Good Luck
