filing Canadian tax returns when you are in the UK

Is this possible? maybe a dumb question but I honestly don't know. I will be moving next year and I was wondering if you are there when everyone is filing their tax returns here. Can you do it from the UK? i usually use quick tax and whatnot. Could I use my parents address as a place to recieve any kind of canadian mail?

You can file a tax refund from the UK. I did mine this year, although it's a bit more complicated, with figuring out what kind of resident you are, and dealing with any uk income, as the UK tax system is different (i ended up omiting those, as here my employer sorts out british taxes, hopefully i don't regret that later) I was only in Canada for 4 months of the previous year, but ended up getting a pretty good return the only downside was that you can't file online (although you can still use the ufile progams) you have to mail it to the international tax office, so it takes longer to process (Just over a month i think. Plus you can still claim your GST, just make sure you change your address with the gov't other wise they stop it until you do (but they will still pay out the missed payments once you change your address). This is my second year in the uk and I am still recieving GST, I've kept my Cdn bank account open so it goes directly into it.

David, I spoke to Rev Can, its relatively easy apparently to file from there. You need that pin or code, and you can do it online. AS for what you file, income there, here, etc I have no clue, but they told me to just get that pin and do it electronically. Or you can have like a power of attorney over here to sign for you.And yes, I am using my moms address. I would for sure give them a call, a heads up whats goin on, so they know. I did it with Rev Can, Sask Health, will be doin as well with SGI, etc. just so they all know I am out of Canada, to find out what exactly I need to do. Most are just noting it on my file and Ill go from there! I believe in proactive (meaning: JUMPING THE GUN) instead of reactive (meaning: SEVERE PANIC!)
