Hi all,
I need some help for applying (actually re-applying since I missed the initial ceremonies.the file is already closed!) citizenship. I cannot meet the requirement of 1095-day rule (having to stay at least 3 yrs within 4 years prior to applying) since I have been studying in US from 2004. I got my permanent residency in 2001 and have lived in BC until Fall of 2004. Right now I'm trying to renew my PR card expiring next January, but at the same time, would like to reapply for citizenship as I'm not sure if I could meet the residency requirement in the next 5 years when I need to renew that PR card again. Does anybody know if a person like me lacking a number of days of physical presence due to educational purpose can still apply for citizenship and get considered eligible to become a citizen? How should I explain this along with the application. Will they read if I write in a separate letter?
Thanks! Any comments are welcome!
