Nelsonagn seems to think even this would be an issue. Certain kinds of nonimmigrant status (eg tourist, student) require that one have a foreign (eg Canadian) residence one has no intention of abandoning. TN status has no such requirement.
However--and this is where I may respectfully disagree with nelsonagn--there is no requirement in the other direction either. A TN is definitely temporary and, if a Canadian chooses to maintain a Canadian residence while on TN in the USA, nothing would prevent them from doing so.
To me the test is this: could you fly up there today, keys in hand and without giving any kind of notice, and enter without knocking? To me that is the definition of a residence. Does this place meet that definition?
