Earlier this year when I tried to visit the US I was not granted entry. The POE officer said that over the past 3 years I had spent the majority of my time in the US. I was allowed to withdraw my application for entry and was told that if i wanted to enter the US I would either need to show stronger ties to Canada or have a visa.
I have been accepted to school in New York and recently received my form I-20. I paid my SEVIS fee online and printed a copy of the payment receipt. School starts in September and I have booked my flight for August 9th (30 days before the start of class)
My question is that will my previous problems at the border negatively affect my chances of being admitted into the US under an F1 Visa status?
I have collected a mountain of paper work to try to demonstrate my strong ties to Canada which include: my 2010 income tax papers, bank statements showing that I have more than enough money to pay for my 2 years of study, cell phone bills, credit card statements, my life insurance policy, and a written letter from my accountant saying that I have been living with my parents at their house (and pay rent) and will continue to live there when I return to Canada.
Also, I am flying out of the same POE where I was previously denied entry.
Is there anything else I can do to help my case?
