I have never ever ever heard of Advance Parole being granted before the visa is even activated, nor before AOS is applied for.

it is not uncommon at all for clerks at USCIS or other government offices to not know what they're talking about, and to give out false information. Happens all the time on the 1-800 misinformation line. That's why we call it that.

Reba, thanks so much for letting me know.. I guess my fiancee will have to go and do what i normally do then. My goodness. Well, i will ask once were married and go in to get the status change papers ... and will post here when that all happens.. :O) thanks so much!
