Proposal to increase TN period of stay

Does anyone know when/if the proposal might be accepted and become effective? My renewal is due end of October and if I want to do it by mail I should get my paperwork together (as I do not want to get stuck without a valid driver's license!).

if I could renew for 3 years I guess the trip back to Canada would be worth it and I would wait to do my renewal in person.

any input would be much appreciated!

Keep an eye on the Federal Register, the comment period is over.

The comments period was over on June 9. Most of the comments are positive, only a couple of negatives. Looks pretty straightforward.
