Public Transportation in Europe

Post Sun May 03, 2009 1:59 pm

Does anyone know any good ways to travel from Nice, France to Southern Germany? Is the train the best way? Where can I find the routes?

Thanks!

I don't know exact routes but would suggest that you google eurail and go from there. If you plan on doing alot of train travel it is good to look into a eurail pass as it will save you $$. You usually can buy these in your home country for cheaper. Haven't bought one in years but it was always a cheaper option. Good Luck!

I bought a Eurail pass last summer and it was perfect (and certainly cheaper than buying the tickets there). It is worthwhile to plan your trip enough to know how many days worth of travel you'll need. (My cousin bought a pass that had about 5 days more than she needed and ended up paying way too much in the end.) However, be advised, there are extra fees for certain trains, at certain times, for certain routes. There were several times that we had to pay an extra fee and if you are cutting it close with connection this may be a pain. We were told that the extra fees must be paid before we board.
Your travel agent should be able to give you all the details.
