Hello. It's nice to see someone else is coming to Scotland. I've been here since August 2002. What sort of preparations have you done / intend to do before you get here and do you have any particular plans upon arrival?

I will be flying out on that same day for a 3 week visit to do my take on the Rocky Mountain tour with my inlaws who have never been to Canada.

It should be pretty good.

Hello to both of you Smile

Brenda - What do you mean exactly by 'preparation'? I'll be flying to Glasgow from Ottawa on the 8th and arriving on the 9th. Then I will get a lift from Glasgow to Edinburgh. I will be staying with my boyfriend, he has a flat in Ediknburgh. He is definitely going to talk to his bank to find out what I will need to open an account Razz I dont want to be in too much hassle...

Deus - Cool, where in Quebec? Moi j'habite dans la ville de Québec. How's Wales?

Wales and Scotland are the only places in the UK where you have the possibility of having 4 seasons as far as I know.

I was camping yesterday night and woke up in snow!
:O

which was a bit of a surprise.. but a nice one when you look out the window and see the Clwydian Hills spinkled with it.

I will go back to Quebec though.

Probably Quebec City or a suburb close-ish to Montreal.
But I really like this place.

From your initial post I assumed that you were coming to Scotland absolutely alone, meaning that once you arrived you wouldn't know anyone and would have to make arrangements for accommodation and whatnot.

But seeing as how there's a significant other... that will make things easier. Is your boyfriend Scottish or is he from Quebec as well?

My boyfriend is Scottish Smile
We met over the internet almost 2 years ago, and talk everyday. I went to stay with him for 3 weeks in August last year, and it was just wonderful. I really loved the place. He came to stay with me in Quebec for 3 weeks too, in February this year. We get along extremely well, and I can't wait to go back to Scotland! Very Happy
