Thank you very much Michelle! There are small details that people can't know unless they're in the thick of it, like you are, so this is great to know. I suspected the english would be sketchy and I am sad that it is. I do not have a BA, just lots of work experience. I guess I could do remote internet work for US/Can employers.

Hi Michelle
What do you know about bringing your own car to Mex?
And, do I need to get a visa of some kind? I don't imagine I can just show and rent a place and just stay...??
As for driving to Mex, are there unsafe areas to avoid on the way through the North of Mex into Qro?
Thanks!

I am a little confused by those sites - I don't know the culture or language (yet) and they all use the $ sign. $4500 for a place to rent. Sounds nuts! Is that pesos? I emailed two ads to ask that question. Let's see what they say.

I have almost everything covered now, and I have run into a problem - GUARANTORS. Apparently I need one to sign for an apartment.
How can I have one of those when I am new to the country?
Any ideas for this one?
Thanks.
