Question about dating a girl in the USA

I have been dating a girl from Iowa and I am from winnipeg canada we recently met for the first time this year for almost 2 months i came back to canada to get my passport. We are planing on getting married and I was wondering if i go back to iowa and get married what would i have to do afterwards to be able to work there? and become a resident.

She needs to sponsor you basically, as a fiance it's a K-1 visa. It's simpler if you get married in Canada and then she sponsors you on an I-130 for an IR-1 visa because at the point of entry on that visa you are an LPR of the US. If you go in on a K visa you have to apply for AOS which takes longer and costs more.
