Question about td visa

Postby t0r0nt0dude on Wed Apr 09, 2008 4:32 pm

I am Canadian and I am a computer professional. I am working in USA on tn visa. My wife is a Pakistani citizen and she does not have any status in Canada. She is not even a landed immigrant in Canada. I just got a new job offer from a different employer and I am considering to accept the offer and change the job. If I change my job, I have to change my tn visa as well. For that (I think) I have to go back to Canada and get a new tn visa when I am returning to USA with a letter from my new employer. I am worried about my wife. My question is that if I change my tn visa, I think she also has to change her td visa. For that does she need to go out of USA, get td visa stamped from US consulate and then come back here or she can get it changed while she is in USA. Because if she has to leave USA, I have to get her visitors visa for Canada and I dont know if she is gonna get it or not. I dont wanna send her back to Pakistan for visa change proceedure because its too difficult to get a us visa from there.

Please advice me what to do in this situation.

Regards,

Alex

No, you do not need do anything. After you get new TN, you wife can apply TD by mail when she lives in U.S with you. Or simply apply TN and TD together
