I work for a company here in Canada
I have been asked to do work in the US for one of our customers . I do not and will not be an employee of this company just a person contracted to analyze data and create reports of this data. This is not a full time position I would be traveling either a few days a week or every other week to do the work.

thanks in advance.

Either B-1 or TN-1, check the requirements for each entry category and see which one you fit into. B-1 is a broader category for Canadians because of NAFTA, so you may find you can do what you want to do under that without the hassle of TN-1.

If you're just going to fetch some reports, and then go back to HQ to analyze them and then returning to drop them off, I'd say B-1.

I will be doing most of the work there. I could be there for 2 months it could be 12 months. I will be writing reports they will use on a daily/weekly/monthly type basis.

You need to have a look at the NAFTA categories to see if you qualify for TN-1 entry.

I would Qualify under systems analyst. but my question related more to the working conditions. I'm not being paid by the company for who I will be doing the work for. they are contracting my services.

If they're contracting you, then they're the employer so they have to do the letter for the TN-1.
