Questions about Canadian wife entering U.S

Post Mon Mar 29, 2010 5:57 pm

I am a u.s citizen and my canadian wife of 2 mths. Is going to come back to see me. She was here in August of 2009 and went back in Jan. 2010. On the way back in the canadian border harassed her, searched all her belongings and interrogated her. Then let her through. She is stressed about crossing back in now. How long can she stay? I want a k3 visa I believe so she can stay for a long time while her paperwork processes. We have a 3 year old daughter together. Are they going to give her a problem at the border? While she's here can I get her visa before she has to go back? What is the cost of all this? Does anyone have experience with this and can lay it all out for me? I've put this off so long I want it done for our happiness. any advice, help would be very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

I wanted to add in here a few things. My girlfriend at the time was down here with a passport visiting for 5 months, We got married at the end and she went back to Canada. DO I need a k-3 or do I just need to get the I-130 done, also I am currently unemployed and living with my mother. She is a permanant resident with a green card, who has lived in the states for 30 years. can she co- sponsor my wife? with the Affidavit of Support. Do we both need to file I-130 forms? Meaning my wife and I? What forms do I need to file? Just the I-130 and affidavit? After that it only takes 5 months then the interview and she's golden?
