Quick Help, Is an interview always required for H1B and H4

Just wondering if an interview is always required at the consulate etc prior to crossing the border. Thanks in advance!

If you are both Cdn, you aren't even allowed to go to the consulate.
If the H1 candidate is non-Cdn, then, yes, you will have an H1 consular visa process and interview.
If the H4 dependant is non-Cdn, then, yes, the spouse will have an H4 consular process, with perhaps an interview.
